About Alkane
Multicommodity producer, developer & explorer. Delivering results.
Alkane is an Australia-based resources group with interests in gold, antimony and copper
We have producing assets and major projects in Australia and Sweden, following a merger of equals with Mandalay Resources.
Wholly owned operations include Tomingley Gold Operations, an open pit and underground gold mine southwest of Dubbo in Central West New South Wales, the Costerfield gold and antimony underground mining operation, northeast of Heathcote in central Victoria, and the Björkdal underground gold mine northwest of Skellefteå in Sweden (approximately 750km north of Stockholm).
We also own the Boda-Kaiser Project, which is founded on a large, gold-copper porphyry system on tenements north of Wellington in Central West New South Wales.
Alkane sustains ongoing near-mine regional exploration to grow resources at each of our operations. We also hold several highly prospective gold and copper tenements in Central West New South Wales, including those comprising the Northern Molong Porphyry Project (NMPP).
Alkane is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. The company was incorporated in 1969 and merged with Canada-based Mandalay Resources in August 2025. Alkane is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:ALK) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:ALK).
We are explorers with a strong track record for finding mineral deposits with economic potential.
We are gold producers, enhancing prospects and creating value for stakeholders through sustainable development.
We deliver strong business results through careful planning, execution and investment.
Our values
We do what’s right in our actions and relationships.
We treat people and the environment with care.
We are proactive in communicating our intent and outcomes
We plan and execute to deliver strong business results.
Our mission
Alkane strives to deliver shareholder value through profitable operation of our assets, together with further discovery of economic mineral deposits, particularly near our operations. Our approach is technically conservative, with any financial risks carefully considered.
Merger with Mandalay
In August 2025, Alkane Resources and Mandalay Resources combined in a “merger of equals”.
This transaction has created a diversified Australia-centric gold and antimony producer with a portfolio of three operating mines and a strong balance sheet. With consistent production from three operating assets underpinning near-term cash flow, the combined company is better positioned to pursue growth opportunities such as seeking a joint-venture partner to assist in the development of the Boda-Kaiser Project.
Alkane’s Board of Directors is committed to further increasing value for our shareholders and strengthening Alkane for the long term. We look forward to announcing our revised and updated strategy in due course.

Alkane timeline
In August 2025, Alkane Resources and Mandalay Resources combined in a “merger of equals” to create a diversified Australia-based gold and antimony producer with a portfolio of three operating mines.
Alkane released the Boda-Kaiser Scoping Study to pave the way for potential development of the Boda and Kaiser resources. The scoping study shows the potential for a profitable long-term mining operation and processing facility.
The San Antonio and Roswell orogenic gold deposits were discovered a few kilometres south of Tomingley in 2018. Project approval permits open-cut and underground mining, relocation of the Newell Highway and an extension of mine life to 2032. The first production stope at Roswell was blasted in April 2024.
We continue to expand and locate new ore zones within the existing developments and undertake regional exploration to extend the resource base south of Tomingley.
Underground development of the Cuffley deposit commenced in 2013, and the processing plant’s capacity expanded by 260%. Mining subsequently extended to Brunswick in 2018, Youle in 2020 and Shepherd in 2023.
Strong results from Björkdal east extension, with 17 holes for 7,253m drilled across three programs.
We continued to develop the Dubbo Project until 2020. The subsequent demerger of the holding company, Australian Strategic Materials (ASM), generated an excellent dividend for Alkane shareholders.
In November 2019, Alkane discovered significant gold-copper porphyry-type mineralisation at Boda, near Bodangora, north of Wellington. This led to the initial Boda and Kaiser Mineral Resource Estimates in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Boda-Kaiser is a potential tier-one asset, with a combined mineral resource base of 8.3 million ounces of gold and 1.5 million tonnes of copper. For these discoveries, NSW Mining awarded Alkane Explorer of the year in 2021 and 2023.
Mandalay Resources acquired the Björkdal operation (commenced 1988) from Elgin Mining.
Constructed on-time and on-budget, Tomingley has typically produced 60,000-70,000 ounces of gold annually, with substantial cash flow. Since mining commenced, mineral resources have grown ahead of production and the 500,000th ounce was poured in May 2022.
Alkane has used the cash flow generated by Tomingley to fund further regional exploration and development in Central West NSW
Mandalay Resources acquired AGD Operations, which first developed the Augusta mine (commenced 2006) at Costerfield.
In the 2000s Alkane discovered the Wyoming and Caloma orogenic gold deposits near Tomingley (southwest of Dubbo), along with the McPhillamy’s deposit near Bathurst. Sale of the McPhillamy’s gold project (co-owned with Newmont Exploration) to Regis Resources in 2012 helped fund construction of Tomingley Gold Operations, based on the Wyoming and Caloma deposits.
Operation of the Peak Hill Gold Mine yielded approximately 30,000 ounces of gold per year, generating cash flow to fund gold-copper exploration and early development of the Dubbo Project (critical minerals and rare earths, discovered in 1998).
Alkane was incorporated as Alkane Resources Pty Ltd in 1969. In the early 1990s, we focused exploration activities on the Lachlan Fold Belt in Central West NSW, a region relatively unexplored at the time.
